*** Requirements for submitted articles ***

• Original
We run all your submissions through Copyscape and a Google search.

• Engaging headline and first paragraph

• Typically 750-2000 words. Write just long enough to engage and enrich readers.

• Polished
Have as few edits as possible.

• Give credit
Check your facts and quotations. Cite the original sources (not the source that quoted the original source).

• Make it concrete
Give examples!

• No wall of text
It helps to break your content into easily digestible pieces for the reader.

This makes your content highly skimmable for readers who don’t have a lot of time to read or for readers with short attention spans.

• Keep your writing simple

  • Write like you’re talking to a kid.
  • Revise towards simplicity.
  • Use simple words and simple sentence structures.
  • Keep it simple, casual, and engaging.

• Make sure your article provides value
Before submitting, ask yourself the following questions:

  • Is my article helpful?
  • Who will it help?
  • Does it help consumers want to use solar energy?

• Be interesting
Write an article YOU would enjoy reading.

We reject articles that:

  • Are not related to solar energy.
  • Have already been published elsewhere.
  • Are written primarily to promote oneself, one’s brand, or one’s website.
  • Need intensive editing.
  • Don’t have a clear flow or progression of ideas.

Thank you for your interest in promoting renewable energy!
